NEW YORK - About 100 men in minis, midis and even tutus took to the streets of Manhattan to call for an end to the tyranny of trousers

"We're not transvestites, homosexuals or cross-dressers," David Johnson told the New York Times for Sunday editions. "We don't want you to call us Jean or Sally. We're men. Men who want the right to wear a skirt."

Johnson, a retired teacher from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and the other pants opposers walked several blocks from the Guggenheim Museum to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they visited an exhibit called "Bravehearts: Men in Skirts." Their presence attracted confused looks from a few fellow visitors.

Ingemar Johnsson, 39, came from Sweden to join the march Saturday. He told the Times that men in Europe often wore skirts and pantaloons until the time of the French Revolution, when pants became the expected masculine attire. Others pointed out that Scottish men have donned kilts for centuries.

"The male bird is always the pretty one, not the female," another participant, 27-year-old Chris Taylor, told the Times. "Why can't the male human being dress with style and color?" ..From yahoo news

Ok first of all he is right bout the whole animal thing...but come off it!! they r animals and we're humans and it works the other way round in this planet dude ;)

I duuno bout any of u guys but i most definitely do not want to be hanging out with a dude wearing a skirt. now ull say well but the scottish wear skilts....yah so?.. its not like they wear it everyday, every wakin hour....or do they..egad!! Man i hope this dosent become a fashion funda for the new age 'metrosexual man'...

There's this really vile couple living on top of my apartment on the opposite side. My bedroom actually faces their window. These guys r like constantly bickering about every single thing and its almost like they come back home from work and remove all their fristrations on their 7-8 yrs old kid. I don't understand how u can yell at ur kids like that...its so humiliating. Jus a week back...i heard the lady screamin her guts out at her son all coz he got less marks in his subjects. Can u believe it she actually yelled sayin "uve shamed us by gettin low grades u stupid fool"....And then yesterday when i was puttin out the clothes to dry....i saw him down with his dad. I Dun really know what happened....all i heard was hid dad saying " u can't even do this right! u asshole" Believe this was a shocker..and i swear till date ive never ever heard any parents call their kids names.I feel sad for the kid...ive heard him cry so much from all the beating and am so pissed at his parents...i mean common there is a limit to everything!. If nebody asks me why suicide, drugs, etc.. is on the rise today...i wud say the number one reason wud be bad parenting...not to mention the various other reasons ..~sighhhhh~

I dont wanna be a judge of whether their parenting skills need a serios lookin into. Hollerin at r child like dat isnt goin to make things better and certainly callin him an 'asshole'isnt helpin. This is so wrong.I pity the poor kid who has to bear all of it and u know what i wouldnt be surprised if he packs his bags n runs away from home. Disaster is jus waiting to happen.
